The Apple Tree

Once there was an apple tree
That grew down by the lane
In springtime it would blossom
And in summer came the rain
The fruit would brust forth on the tree
And the scent would fill the air
Then winter came and snow would fall
And the apple tree stood bare.
I search for you in springtime,
In summer you were not there.
I cried for you in winter
When the apple tree was bare.
